The word “advent,” means the coming, or the arrival. The season of Advent in Church history has been an effort to draw our attention and stir our anticipation of our Savior’s coming at Christmas.

Today, Advent can still serve as a time of preparation for our hearts; by setting aside the days and weeks leading up to Christmas, to celebrate Christ’s first coming, and long for the promised return of His second coming.
